It utilizes easily available type "C" (C cell) 1.5V batteries either rechargeable or non-rechargeable varieties and requires three of those.

This
Krautkramer DMS
is a straight-beam manual unit for ultrasonic flaw detection/measurement based on a microprocessor and a data logger.
It can measure wall thicknesses remaining in a wide range of components, including pipes, tanks and other parts subject to loss of thickness due to corrosion or erosion. It is also used for crack detection.
Measurements can also be made through layers, such as paint and exclude the thickness of the measurement layer, but it is more effective on clean surfaces..
A two-way serial interface enables the transfer of this data to a printer or computer, including A scan images and remote programming of the DMS meter from a personal computer. Two LEMO ports are provided for to allow for use of both single and dual plug transducer probes (photo 6).

This unit is in Very Good+ to near Fine cosmetic condition. The battery pack and compartment are clean and there has been no leakage.  This unit has been conscientiously maintained and was working when pulled from the field. The unit will most likely require calibration by the next user. Manuals (if not included) are available online.
