Description
For sale is one cylinder sleeve from a 1972 Honda CB500K1. This will fit the following models:CB500 71 thru 74 (A, K1 and K2)
This cylinder sleeve is in excellent condition. The cylinder wall is as slick as glass. There is no grooving nor rust. If you have a good cylinder block with a bad or grooved sleeve....this is for you. I will tell you how to replace the cylinder sleeve. First you preheat your kitchen oven to 450 degrees. When up to temp, you put the cylinder block in and heat for thirty minutes. Remove from the oven and turn upside down and the cylinder should just fall out.....at the most a soft tap with a rubber hammer. Be careful to block the other three from falling out. Be careful because this cylinder block is going to be hot! Once you have removed the bad cylinder sleeve you can insert this one easily.....but you have to hurry because the cylinder cools down fairly quickly and once cool the cylinder sleeve will not insert. You may have to remove the bad cylinder sleeve one heat cycle and then do again to insert the good cylinder sleeve. After doing this.....presto....you have a usable cylinder block again. The key to remember that when heated, aluminum expands more than steel. Please feel free to email at any time if you have questions concerning this item. I gladly ship worldwide.
